JOEL’S BIO
Rather than give you a lengthy list of my musical accomplishments (which in fact are not exactly lengthy) – Why not truly tell you “ABOUT ME”:
Yes the awkward and often feared question – “Tell me a little about yourself”. Well if you found my website I assume you already know my name. As my Homepage and Twitter Biographies so eloquently state: “I’m a Kentucky boy living the Florida dream.” Yes I left my beloved Bluegrass nearly a decade ago for warmer weather, beachfront sunsets, and to start my own nurse staffing business. Though it’s not always been perfect, living in paradise has its perks (as long as you don’t mind a lot of company). Along the way I’ve managed to write a few songs, marry my best friend, and by the time you read this I will likely be the proud father of a beautiful baby girl. Yes life is good!
I consider myself one of the luckiest – Wait I mean “blessed” people in the world. I guess having a family that loves and prays for you must help because I am continually amazed at God’s goodness. My business is called NO PLACE LIKE HOMECARE , and we are a caregiver referral service for senior adults who wish to remain in their own homes. Working with seniors for the past 7 years has been truly wonderful, and I can honestly say I have something to smile about each and everyday. Hey it’s not bad being the boss either. “Oops – Sorry Danielle, I know that’s your title…” And while I am apologizing to Danielle – Let me also say thanks for allowing me to continually pursue my dream of performing and song-writing. You put up with too many late nights, loud practices, and crazy weekend gigs – just so your husband can claim to be a Rock Star. My wife is the Best! I love you Kid…
Well you may be saying: “Alright what about your music?” Well I just wanted you to know a little more about me first. If you are booking me for your most important day or event, doesn’t it feel better to know that in addition to being a great performer, I’m a successful business owner, husband, and father? Okay, okay – Here’s my official music biography:
Joel Chaffins is a lead performer / song-writer living in Redington Shores, FL. Originally residing in Southeastern, KY, Joel “cut his musical teeth” on both traditional and alternative country genres. Many of his early influences range from Elvis and the Rat Pack to Hank Williams and the Highway Men. One of Joel’s favorite musical encounters involves a tour bus jam session with none other than Willie Nelson. Still you will notice many pop and rock influences in his voice as Joel is most comfortable putting his own unique spin on hits from the 60’s and 70’s to today’s top 20. Joel’s musical career started at a young age as he followed the path of his parents (Contemporary Christian Artists, Ron and Pat Chaffins), and continued with multiple solo appearances and various stints fronting rock and dance band projects including: Bringing Back Thursday and Scarlet Memories. Recently (and most notably) Joel has concentrated on his song-writing, while performing in both larger venues and more intimate settings. In addition to his upbeat one-man show, Joel is a lead vocalist for Tampa Bay’s premier Dance / Funk Band: The Bay Player’s Club. In December of 2010 he launched his debut album “Outlaw at Heart”.
